Lauren Alaina Suddeth advances again on ‘American Idol’

Staff report

Lauren Alaina Suddeth of Rossville, Ga., sang her way into the Top 50 Thursday night in the third Hollywood Round of “American Idol.”

The final Hollywood Round will take place Feb. 23, according to Chloe Ellers, FOX publicist. At the end of the Thursday, Feb. 24, episode, the 20 semifinalists will be revealed.

According to Ellers, live voting will begin Tuesday, March 1, when the Top 10 males will perform. The Top 10 women will sing for the viewers’ votes on Wednesday, March 2, according to the publicist. The highest vote-getters will become Season 10’s finalists.

Suddeth sang "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" during the Thursday airing a song popularized by "Idol" judge Stephen Tyler and his band Aerosmith.

In an apparent flash forward to next week's round, Suddeth was shown walking away from an "Idol" stage crying. It was not know whether hers were tears of joy or sadness. It was the show's final image. Next week, the contestants will have 24 hours to learn a Beatles song.
