Examiner report gives details on homicide

A Hamilton County medical examiner report shows that a 29 year old woman killed earlier this month had 36 stab wounds to her neck and shoulder and a dozen cuts to her hand.

A housekeeper found Meco Siler's body at about 2 p.m. On Jan. 6 in her room at the Country Hearth Suites on 20th Street.

Three days later police arrested Brandon Eugene Russell, 29, on charges of felony murder and robbery in connection with Siler's death.

Police said it looked as though the mother of three had been beaten and stabbed to death.

A witness told police that Russell had planned to rob Siler of drugs she had in her room, according to the arrest report.

Russell is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail on a $300,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions court on Tuesday.
