Wendell Sweeton, a special education teacher at East Lake Academy, has been stopped several times for driving under the influence and now has been arrested on a felony charge, Hamilton County Schools officials said.
Sweeton has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of a Hamilton County Schools investigation. He will appear in Hamilton County Criminal Court on March 3, records show.
Sweeton’s most recent arrest, his third on a DUI charge, was in 2010, said Danielle Clark, spokeswoman for the school system.
