The Undefeated

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

LOSER

Sister Sarah picked the perfect movie title for the 'docucomedy' look her political life: 'Undefeated.'

A constant reminder to all us, but especially our tea bagger knot head friends, just how out of touch she actually is.

She lost in the 2008 election and then she quit her job as governor.

Even Charley Sheen would have to admit that's not WINNING.

I came across a website called Balloon Juice that had people submit ideas for what her new movie should be called. These are some of my favorites: Citizen Vain, From Here to Inanity, The Scum Also Rises, From Within Sight of Russia With Love, Jackass 4, Clueless, The Big Shill, Legends of the Fail, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. My own suggestions for a title would be... Forgetting Sarah Palin... and Mrs. Palin Goes to Washington (NOT).

Have any of you liberals seen the movie? Read her books? Lived under her governing, and compared her success to that of President Obama?

Fear causes hate. I suspect you're scared of her. So think again. Would President Palin make joblessness worse? Would she make the deficit worse? Would she make gasoline and other prices worse? Would she make our Nobel Peace Laureate's wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and Libya--all of them his wars, he hasn't asked Congress to declare any of them--worse?

I ain't sayin' she's perfect. I ain't sayin' I don't have qualms about her. I ain't sayin' I prefer her to a black man named Herman Cain or a non-resigned lady named Michelle Bachmann as President of the "57" (+1), er, the 50 states. I am saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Matthew 7). Do you want to be treated the way you're treating her?

Accept that asymmetry and almost everything not only makes sense about these two cultural guideposts, but can, by extension, explain the 1860-like division in American itself."

Saint Sarah of the Immaculate Bewilderment

Sarah’s acceptance speech:

“Thank you – Thank you very much for nominating me the modern Joan of Arc. Let us remember that anyone can pee standing up. It's how she came away from that episode...that made Joan in the Arc of the Covenant with Noah and the animals burning the stakes of freedom, and telling them English that they can't have the guns of the French people and that we would be free - a saint.”

“If we pray to God and support Israel, we will always be doing the right thing and God will reward this great Christian nation with more freedoms and more prosperities.”

“So, to Ronald Reagan and to Jesus, I say thank you. Thank both of you for giving us the foundation to build our freedoms on. Thank you for showing us how to move forward toward our own destiny. We will not fail.”

Chet123, I don't think Sailorman was directly comparing the intellect of the two. He is however correct in his comparison of the media'a relative treatment of both.

This is generally a true statement, with the exception of one word,'anything'. Obama has not gotten a complete "free pass".

Andrew,

I tried to read her book and I couldn't finish it. It reminded me of a 'What I did on my Summer Vacation' essay written by a seventh grader. Could she be worse than Obama? Yes, she could be a lot worse. That is what liberals fear, that she might actually get elected. The conservatives seem to be in total denial that GW Bush drove this country into the ditch. They are hell bent on keeping it in the ditch just so that Obama will not be re-elected.

Why is it that conservatives always want to elect the dumbest candidate in the race? You may call me an 'elitist', but I want my elected representatives to be the smartest people on the planet. I want my Doctor to be the guy/gal who finished first in the class. I want my financial advisor to be the smartest I can find. Why would I vote for someone who is as dumb as a box of rocks?

Isn't it obvious that the Koch brothers and their kind want to elect people who they can manipulate? They would never support someone with the gumption to challenge their ideas.

How many of us need to, in order for any of us to know that the woman is narcissistic, a blooming hypocrite, a proven three-time quitter, and in no manner a comparison of success to the current President of the United States whom she criticizes constantly?

"Fear causes hate. I suspect you're scared of her. So think again."

We're not afraid of her, you warbling kook. The woman as well as the fools who defend her, lack enough intelligence to function in any capacity that would move this country forward.

"Would President Palin make joblessness worse? Would she make the deficit worse? Would she make gasoline and other prices worse?"

No, she sure wouldn't, any more than the current President has any magical powers to do the same.

"Would she make our Nobel Peace Laureate's wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and Libya--all of them his wars, he hasn't asked Congress to declare any of them--worse?"

Afghanistan and Iraq belong to the Republicans, you self-appointed historian who was never hired.

"I ain't sayin' she's perfect. I ain't sayin' I don't have qualms about her. I ain't sayin' I prefer her to a black man named Herman Cain or a non-resigned lady named Michelle Bachmann as President of the "57" (+1), er, the 50 states."

You..."ain't?" How far did you get through school?

"I am saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Matthew 7). Do you want to be treated the way you're treating her?"

When you start applying that level of respect to that which you show our current President, then you have every right to post that sentence.

Perhaps it was the time when the atomic bomb had fallen on Colchester. He did not remember the raid itself […]." (1.3.12) :George Orwell's 1984

The woman is still on parade while on a stage in a pageant and she loves adulation wherever and whenever she can get it. She's not behaving like an actor attending the opening of a movie that they are starring in. The movie is about her. All her. Nothing but her.

John McCain has to be fully aware that he unleashed a monster upon the United States by picking her as his running mate. Had he made a more sensible choice, he would have been the President of the United States right now.

THE GOP BABES, BLESS THEIR HEARTS

Enough of the Sarah 'cut and run' Palin talk. She's already a cartoon character.

But since a few of you have hailed Michele Bachman, I have a few thoughts about her.

I was amused when she didn't know the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which began the Revolutionary War, were fought in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire.

I was equally amused that she thought John Quincy Adams was a 'Founding Father,' and that the 'Founding Fathers' fought tirelessly to end slavery.

When she announced her candidacy in Waterloo, Iowa, her hometown, she said it was also the hometown of John Wayne. It wasn't. Shouldn't someone who grew up there know if a famous movie star lived there or not? Wouldn't there be, I don't know, schools named for him or at least a street or city park? Maybe she meant serial killer John Wayne Gacey, who WAS born in Waterloo.

I was expecting her to say something like, "I'm proud to call Waterloo my home, which is where our 'Founding Father' General Napoleon beat the British because they wanted to take away our freedom guns. Amen."

Anyone who wants to be President should have a basic grasp of history.

Is that too much to ask?

"Freedom is a Very Good Idea"
(a speech for Sarah Palin)

Where to begin, where to begin? It’s almost like before us is the same country Jefferson and Washington stood in and thought about important things to make the then unfounded nation a founded one.

They thought about things to make the country, then just colonies of colonists, stronger than it was at the early time in its history. Indians and British people made things very uncertain back in those days when founding a new country was taking up a lot of everyone’s time and effort. So, when freedom was the idea, it was decided it was a good one.

Freedom would allow people to be free. Free from a king over in England who thought he owned most of the new land that was actually promised to the settlers by God because of "Makeafist Destiny".There was so much to do that the first thing was to write a Constitution and so these fathers who were also founders decided to do just that. Thomas Jefferson, a Christian and Patriotic American, and then only in his 20s or early 30s, but young, anyway, was chosen as the person to write a first version of the Constitution. He did a really good job and put things in the document that would mean this new Christian nation was also free.

Freedom rang.

So, now there was a lot of jobs that needed creatin’, and the fathers knew we had to let people grow businesses in order to have jobs for those new people arriving from Europe and Africa.

The African people didn’t need jobs so much because they were also really slaves, but were very happy in those days because they had food and clothing provided to them if they would just work in the fields some during the day, then sing spiritual songs with their families at night. So, even though we, the new Americans hated slavery, we had it for a while until the founding fathers ended it.

.

So, now today, we have a lot of jobs to create and a lot of debts to pay off, so we need even more freedom than we needed before we needed the jobs and the less debt. So, my fellow Americans, be willing to sacrifice for this great land of wealth and job creation. We are the greatest country on earth and most other countries on this same earth look at us and wish they were us.

They hate our freedoms too. That’s why we had to attack Iraq and Afghanistan. They wanted to end our way of life on 9-11. They love the way we live, but hate the way we have freedom.

So, we are now all Americans living for the same dream: freedom and strength.

If we pray to God and support Israel, we will always be doing the right thing and God will reward this great Christian nation with prosperity.

So, to Ronald Reagan and to Jesus, I say thank you. Thank both of you for giving us the foundation to build our freedoms on. Thank you for showing us how to move forward toward our own destiny. We will not fail. ht;Jesus General

A generic Republican candidate now holds a four-point lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 election matchup. It's the fifth week in a row that the GOP candidate has been ahead and the widest gap between the candidates to date.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds a generic Republican candidate earns support from 46% of Likely U.S. Voters, while the president picks up 42% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.

There is a definite shortage of Bennett cartoons ridiculing Bachmann here. Could it be Clay is afraid of giving her air time?

For whoever it was up there who encouraged all the Dems to switch vote in the primaries and vote for Palin/whoever. Well, that got their man into office in 2008 so why not this time too? It is the only way they will win an election for the foreseeable future...that and giving the illegal Mexicans the vote. -- Or more accurately, "the illegal mestizos". --

Sarah Palin outsmarted all. She took her 15 min. and turned it into a money making machine for her family’s future and the more the left beat her up the more money she made. She also had influence in the 2010 election. So keep it up lefties and go Sarah.

Here’s another headline for the Left:

Why does all media keep allocating time to Palin She is not and will not be a candidate. She is not a factor and will make no decisions about all the issues this country is facing.

It is evident most people are persuaded by party promises and their news bite comments regardless of what they do. Republican candidates are not impressive and like Obama most are promising their ass off when campaigning without any details regarding how they will deliver. The media didn't challenge Obama and the media did get his ignorant ass elected. A degree does not automatically result in intelligence and ability. The hazard is the media will cause an incompetent to replace an incompetent.

Today Obama made a snide unnecessary comment about CEOs having corporate jets. The fact is most don't. Some do and for good reason. Any good CEO could do his job but he couldn't qualify to carry their brief case much less do their job. No BOD would recruit or hire him as CEO. Most good CEOs would at least select a competent V.P. and cabinet members that could get the job done. Obama like most politicians would bankrupt the strongest company in the world managing the way he does.

We got Obama and Biden, a community organizer and a senator that was recognized for riding the train to work and back daily. Sounds bad but a senile senator and Alaska's governor that squeaked like the geese found there wasn't a good option. I was down on Bush and the republicans since he with a democratic congress created a debt that was equal to the total of all prior debts. What did I get? A dumb ass equal to Bush that has now doubled Bush's debt in two years, kept unemployment at dangerously high levels and thinks government is the only answer to every problem. WTF is one to do?

That’s what you get when you vote with your emotions instead of your head. That’s what the Democrats hope for. You were not alone that’s for sure. I too was fed up with the Bush Administration, but I listened to what Obama said, I did research on his background and who/what influenced him from birth. What he had done with that big old fancy education—not much in the big scheme of things. Just a good snake oil salesman/con-man with good timing in 2008. I voted with my head and it was not for Obama. It was the least of the worst.

I find that every time he opens his mouth he lies, says one thing and does another, plays the race card or the class warfare card, plays to the Hispanics, etc. Today was a classic un-presidential appearance. Everything he says he wants to do is will continue to hurt the economy and keep unemployment and debt high. He is owns this mess we are in today and it is time to stop blaming everybody else.

Good luck on your next big decision.

Your statement is proof that you did no credible research on the man. Had you done so from sources that were credible, you would have discovered that the man did lots for people that also count in this great land.

Name your sources. That would be interesting, if you were honest.

It's clear that you read writings from people who were no closer to the man that they ever were to a tornado, and in no position to know what the truth if it hit them upside their ignorant and racist heads.

Fox News was the worst at the time, but when the right-wing machine began attacking Obama, I did seek out the truth from credible sources, including the man himself in order to get an understanding what he was all about.

And when I discovered what it was that the Conservative/Republican lie machine was up to, I ended my allegiance to them. They did the same thing to John Kerry in 2004. He was slammed by the right, with a bed made up of lies and utterly imagined crap to boot.

What I discovered was a widespread attempt to discredit Obama with deceptive lies at every turn. You name it. It was a lie.

Rev. Wright's sermon clip, played over and over on Hannity's show, was taken totally out of context. In context, most people would agree with it. But Obama had to eventually sever that relationship and we all know why.

There was almost no demonstrable tie with Bill Ayers, who never was the evil man some made HIM out to be. He never harmed a soul. He atoned and has apologized many times for the sins he committed as well, long after the infamous "we didn't do enough" quote was taken, again out of context.

Like it. Don't like it. I do not care. The truth is the truth.

It's briefly written about wherever you read it, but the man spent many years, I assure you, working in the south side of Chicago on a personal level and on a legal level in poor neighborhoods, improving them and forcing landlords to provide decent living accommodations to the poor. He and others raised money for playgrounds, parks, and for the hiring of police to patrol the south side streets.

You may not know the man or think a thing of him, but the fact is in Chicago, he is well known for the good he did for two decades in that area.

You discard all the above, I suppose, and swallowed the right-wing version, which is and always has been fiction.

Who cares what you think? You're as much a nobody as I am, but I voted for the man, I've contributed much to his campaign, and I'm going to do it again in 2012. My checks have been being sent for months.

No one, and I mean no one, will unseat him, no matter what silly, slanted, carefully placed poll suggests 16 months before the election date.

Don't be surprised if unemployment and the deficit continue increasing. He needs that to happen.

tderng wrote: "clara...whats wrong with her and her husbands business receiving money that they are due under the guidelines of the state and federal government?"

That in and of itself is not a problem. The problem involves Michelle Bachmann's public statements repeated calling for a reduction in Medicaid payments to supposedly reduce deficit spending.

The problem involves her co-owned farm receiving more than a quarter million dollars in farm subsidies from the Government while she dangles a tea bag and whines about Governmental waste.

She's lied about these things as well. She claimed that the Medicaid money was a "one time thing" for 'training.' The fact is that it was paid to her husband's company for the past six years.

The article goes on to state that he has received money from the State of Minnesota, almost 50% in fact, for managed care plans funded by the state.

She has repeatedly stated that all the funds in question went to the employees of the clinic, as if anyone would believe that one.

"At least they're out there trying to do some good instead of just sucking off of the government teat for their whole lives like some Presidents I could mention."

Well you could mention it, but I seriously doubt that you would begin to make a case to support such a charge.

"At least she is more than just a politician, she is also a successful business person."

You know, people are delving into what has made them both a success up to this point, and you seem to be missing that point. There is much documentation to suggest that most of their success has come from the accounts of the Federal and Minnesota Government coffers.

No one is suggesting that what either of them has done is illegal, but it sure does make her quite the hypocrite, don't you think? I sure do.

I'd be careful what you defend. You're nose might get bit.

Well, we'll never know will we? Sarah Palin isn't going to run, and even if she does, Michelle Bachmann will scratch her eyes out on a stage in front of the entire nation. She thinks that she is now going to be the first female President, kooky thoughts, lackluster education and all.

harp339 ranted: "ALPROVA IS RIGHT. Obama is not a Marxist retard. A retard couldn't brain wash so many and advance his socialist agenda so well."

How can you claim it involved brainwashing? He made no claim otherwise. He ran for office on a platform filled with proposing to institute programs that are considered Socialism by Conservatives and Republicans.

I'm disappointed that what was passed doesn't go far enough, but pleased that it is a good start, and content that for now at least, the Republicans can't do a thing about it. I'm convinced that they will not be able to ever stop what progress has been made.

"The sad thing is with the granola, gay, Hispanic, Muslim, black and loyal democrats vote with no effective challenger he will have four more years."

You're wise to see that much. There will be no effective challenger. They will each be torn to shreds by each other over the next 15 months.

"Don't be surprised if unemployment and the deficit continue increasing. He needs that to happen."

Don't be surprised if you're wrong about that. Kooks are rarely right about anything, and thank goodness for that.

"One report states he had appointed 32 czars to date. He may need a few more to attain the power and control he desires. He has enough congress members supporting him and others not smart enough to figure out what is happening."

Would it surprise you to learn that GWB appointed 33 czars during his reign in Washington. He also appointed 49 people to posts, side-stepping congress 28 times when he made them too.

The last two Presidents have indeed appointed a bunch of czars, but they are nothing new. And neither is side-stepping Congress when making appointments by a President.

President Obama, contrary to your own ignorant opinion, cannot, nor is he attempting to attain any more power as President than any other man before him has ever attained. He can't.

You people are bent out of shape because he defiantly stands his ground and refuses to bow to public opinion, be that by a majority or minority of people.

No one to date has brought any case whatsoever to light that proves a disregarding or violation of the Constitution. No one.

So how about citing what it is that you're whining about. You're dropping generalities as if they mean a thing. They don't and they never will.

The BURP Man wrote: "McCarthy died and then Marxism became a worthwhile philosophy? Is that the “New Logic” at work again?"

You can answer your own question by asking yourself another.

When was the last time anyone cussed you out for calling them a Marxist? I suspect it has been quite awhile, as only people who are of the same opinion as yourself, would be insulted by the label.

Marxism has a great deal going for it that makes it worthwhile, but that's something you'd never be interested in discussing logically. You're not a logical person.

You're content to sit there, like so many other dis-associative Capitalistic wannabe's, thinking that you have a grasp on reality, satisfied in your own mind that Marxism, taken to it's illogical conclusion, never works in Society.

As you think it is, you're right. It never works. But then, you've never really studied it very much at all, have you? Of course not.

For had you, you'd not be thinking what you're thinking when you call someone a Marxist. You think you're insulting someone, when in fact, you're paying them a compliment.

So thank you.

To create a website that is 100% dedicated to asking people to request her film is the most pathetic thing this woman has done to date. I don't think she could do anything to top this one, in terms of seeking attention for herself.
