Hamilton County Trustee Bill Hullander announced this morning that the county has filed a lawsuit against the owners of Comfort Suites on Williams Street in Chattanooga.
The hotel owes $174,756 in hotel motel taxes and has been delinquent since 2008, he said.
Hullander said the county filed the lawsuit to recover the money last week.
The county is also in the process of collecting back taxes on the Delta Queen on the Tennessee River and Town & Country Inn on East 23rd Street.
The Delta Queen owes $40,000 from April to July 2010, and Town & Country Inn owes $10,000 from September 2010 through January 2011.
