Friends of the family of Lauren Alaina Suddeth are sponsoring a fundraiser Saturday beginning at noon at Park Place Restaurant, 2891 LaFayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
Suddeth is the Rossville, Ga., singer who is a finalist on “American Idol.” The benefit is to raise funds to help defray family members’ travel expenses to Hollywood. “American Idol” provides for one parent to stay with any contestant who is a minor, all other family and friends must fly to Los Angeles at their own expense.
Jack Goodlet, Park Place owner, said a portion of the day’s sales at the restaurant will be donated to the travel fund. The restaurant opens at noon on Saturday.
A cruise-in begins at 4 p.m. Any owner of a tricked-out car or motorcycle is invited to show in the fundraiser. “Vote Lauren Alaina” T-shirts and buttons will be sold at the cruise-in.
There is no charge to show a car or for spectators at the cruise-in.
