A Chattanooga woman has been charged with TennCare fraud after the Tennessee Office of Inspector General said she altered a Hydrocodone prescription and tried to use TennCare benefits to pay for the drugs.
Catherine E. Burden, 33, was charged with TennCare fraud and attempting to obtain possession of a controlled substance by fraud. She was arrested after a pharmacy tipped off authorities, according to a news release.
Since the OIG started running in 2005, more than 1,400 people have been charged with TennCare fraud. Tennesseans can get cash reward for TennCare fraud tips that lead to convictions by calling 1-800-433-3982.
