Armed pizza delivery man shoots would-be robber in Memphis

A pizza delivery driver told police that he drew his own .38 Special on Thursday night and shot a gunman who tried to rob him in Southeast Memphis.

Called about 11:20 p.m., Memphis police took into custody an 18-year-old man suffering from bullet wounds. Listed in fair condition today at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, he had not been charged.

Shortly after 11 p.m., the 31-year-old Papa John's pizza driver was delivering three pizzas to 6914 Snyder, near Raines and Riverdale roads, according to a police report.

Pizza guy, you failed to exercise proper gun control... you only hit the thief with 3 out of the 5 rounds you shot at him. Further, you shot him with a wimpy .38 revolver. On the other hand, you did stop an armed gunman from robbing and possibly shooting/killing yourself. Big time KUDOS, Pizza Guy. But get a bigger caliper weapon!!! Something with a .4x on the front end that has more bullets in it. That way he won't run away and won't be robbing anyone else... ever.

This is less than a block away from a police station and a decent neighborhood for Memphis. It sounds like the would be robber lived across the street so it may be unlikely that he was behind the murders of the other two pizza guys.

The suspect was part of the "Occupy Bushes Movement", and was hungry. That rich pizza delivery guy should have spread the pizza wealth.
