Athens journalist brings stories from page to stage

The Community Life editor of the Daily Post Athenian will bring his original stories and comedy to the Sue E. Trotter Theater at The Arts Center in Athens, Tenn., on Saturday.

"So It Goes -- An Evening With Greg Moses" is billed as an amalgamation of Lewis Grizzard and Dave Barry with Thornton Wilder and Arthur Miller. "So It Goes" will bring the stories from Moses' humorous newspaper columns, and a few new ones, off the printed page and onto the stage.

He and other actors will bring to life such favorite characters as Mamaw and Papaw, Granny and Little Johnny in an off-the wall night of comedy, said Ellen N. Kimball, executive director of The Arts Center, in a news release.

Moses is a McMinn County native who grew up on a farm "in the suburbs of Athens." He graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a degree in English and has been working for the Daily Post Athenian for the past four years.

The evening is a fundraiser for The Arts Center. The $15 ticket includes light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets may be purchased at The Art Center box office, by phone or online. Parties of eight or more may call ahead for reserved seating.
