Body of missing hunter crushed by ATV in Grundy County found

Searchers have located the body of a Grundy County man who disappeared Thursday while hunting, authorities said.

Rusty Cheatham, Sequatchie Emergency Management Agency director, said searchers have sent GPS coordinates to the sheriff's department to recover the body of David Layne.

Layne took an ATV and went hunting up Daus Mountain on Thursday. That afternoon, he called a friend to say that he had wrecked and was crushed underneath the vehicle in an unknown location.

Cheatham couldn't say exactly where the body was found.
