Early morning crash in Dalton results in fatality

The Dalton Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating an early morning crash that occurred at Chattanooga Avenue and Judson Street around 1:30 this morning, police reported.

Alicia Chandler, 27, lost control of the vehicle causing the car to go off the roadway. Elizabeth Burchfield, 26, a passenger, was ejected from the vehicle.

Burchfield was transported to Hamilton Medical Center and pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

The Dalton Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the crash and have said that it appears alcohol was involved.

No other injuries from the accident were reported.

I am astounded at the high perentage of one vehicle accidents in this area.
