McDonald named portfolio manager
Scott McDonald, a first vice president of investments for UBS Financial Services Inc., has been named senior portfolio manager in Chattanooga.
Jeff Cronan, manager of the city office, said McDonald has more than 17 years of experience in the securities industry and joined UBS in 2009. He began his career at Smith Barney and its predecessor firms in 1993 after graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
McDonald is a partner with the Vantage Point Financial Group, a signature team within the Chattanooga office that works with select individuals and families. Scott and his wife, Cathy, live on Lookout Mountain with their two children.
The Chattanooga UBS office is located at Krystal Building, One Union Square, in downtown Chattanooga.
Anderson starts TriAlta Advisors
Corey Anderson has established TriAlta Advisors, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. His office is at the Tallan Financial Center in downtown Chattanooga.
As an Ameriprise financial adviser, he will work to help clients with their financial planning and investments through a personal long-term financial planning relationship. Financial advisers help clients identify financial needs and objectives and recommend solutions to help them plan for their goals.

TBA recognizes Athens banker
The Tennessee Bankers Association recently recognized SouthEast Bank & Trust Chairman F. Stephen Miller as one of four recipients of its Leaders in Banking Excellence award.
Commemorative plaques highlighting the careers of Miller and the other bankers were presented during a recent TBA convention. The Tennessee Bankers Association is a not-for-profit organization representing Tennessee's commercial banks and thrifts.
Make-A-Wish names directors
Four new directors from Chattanooga have been elected to the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of East Tennessee.
New directors include Ed Carpenter, CEO of Mosaic Imaging Group LLC; David Glenn, chief technology officer and vice president of enterprise operations of Terenine Inc.; David Harris, owner of Shull-Harris Construction; and Robert Smith, president of Southern Group.
The foundation, which began in East Tennessee in 1988, has granted more than 860 wishes through the service of more than 120 volunteers.
