Chattanooga: Teen arrested in cabbie’s shooting

Chattanooga police arrested a teenager today in connection with last night’s shooting of a cab driver.

Christopher C. Padgett, 18, faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Nathan Deere, 32, was shot inside a cab Wednesday night at 1643 Ocoee St. He is listed in critical condition at Erlanger hospital.

Deere’s shooting brings the city’s total number of shootings so far this year to 30. At the same time last year, the city had recorded 27 shootings.
