Chattanooga man stabbed, police search for suspect

A 59-year-old Chattanooga man was stabbed tonight and police are searching for lead.

Curtis Bates, 59, was walking in the alley between Laura and Cooley streets about 8 p.m. when an unknown suspect approached him from behind and cut him with a knife, causing several minor lacerations, said police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.

Bates was transported to Parkridge Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Hartwig said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
