UPDATE: Incumbent Richard Floyd wins race for 27th District GOP nomination

Tennessee House of Representatives, 27th District, Republican Primary

Rep. Richard Floyd, a Republican from Chattanooga, won with 90 percent of the votes the race against Basil Marceaux Sr. in the House District 27 GOP primary.

Floyd got 7,897 votes while Marceaux trailed behind with 782 votes, according to the Hamilton County Election Commission.

Floyd will face Democrat Frank Eaton in the Nov. 6 general election. Eaton had no opposition in the Democratic primary.
