The 2012 Chattanooga Mud Run attracted 435 five-person teams to the Greenway Farm on Saturday, and the 5-kilometer event featuring an ultra-sloppy version of a military-style obstacle course "should raise well over $100,000" for Habitat for Humanity, according to spokesperson Dawn Stoike. The RRL 1 team repeated its 2011 victory with three other RRL teams finishing second, fifth and 16th. The winners were Chris Rutledge, Jim Levine, Trip Farmer, Mike Drew and Kim Ray. Rutledge, Levine, Tom Rowland, Alan Lebovitz and Patrick St. Charles were the 2011 RRL 1 group.

• Chattanooga native Susannah Cook has coached another set of USTA Southern Sectional junior team tennis national champions. Cook, now a professional at the Lexington (Ky.) Tennis Club, directed the Southern Hospitality to their fifth World Team Tennis Junior Nationals title last week in San Diego. An all-Georgia team from the Smooth Strokes Academy finished 10th. The tournament is hosted every year by WTT co-founder Billie Jean King. Cook's collection of boys and girls from Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Arkansas and Louisiana beat the Midwest Cheeseheads 39-33 in the final match. "Our girls were so strong and gave us the lead we needed against a very tough team," the USTA website quoted Cook. "Our boys played extremely hard and fought for every single game. We really came together as a team, and that is what World Team Tennis is all about."
