Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested a man suspected of burglarizing properties and vehicles through the Middle Valley area.
Jimmie Dean Roy, 31, was taken into custody with a stolen bicycle at 2 a.m. this morning as deputies did a saturation of the Coffelt, Moses and Gates Roads area after numerous residents had items taken, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson in a news release.
After a search warrant was executed for Roy’s residence at 7411 Harper Road in Hixson, a large amount of stolen items were recovered, Atkinson said.
Roy faces charges of theft over $500, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana, she said, and additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Roy has a prior criminal history involving similar charges, according to local court records. His next court date is set for March 13 before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Christine Sell.
