Leap Year is giving Hamilton County property owners an extra to day to pay their 2011 taxes, and Trustee Bill Hullander is offering extended hours.
Property taxes from 2011 not paid by 9 p.m. today will be considered delinquent.
The trustee's main office in the County Courthouse will remain open tonight until 9, Hullander reminded taxpayers in a Tuesday statement.
By Tuesday, the trustee's monthly intake on property taxes totaled about $55.3 million for this year, records show.
In addition, Hullander has collected $801,205 in 2010 taxes and $882,577 in payment-in-lieu-of-taxes earmarked for education. Those numbers may be adjusted for possible refunds in situations where people overpay or pay the same bill twice, said Deputy Clerk Jackie Ware.
