STATESBORO, Ga. — The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team defeated Georgia Southern 66-60 tonight at Hanner Fieldhouse.
The win lifted UTC’s record to 10-4, 5-0 in Southern Conference play. Georgia Southern fell to 5-10, 1-5.
UTC had the game well in hand — the lead was 50-31 with 11:04 to play — before the Eagles mounted a rally that cut the lead to 62-57 with 35 seconds left.
The Lady Mocs hit enough free throws in the final minute to seal the win.
Whitney Hood led UTC with 17 points and nine rebound, while Taylor Hall added six points and 12 rebounds.
