The Hamilton County Board of Education approved a phase-in plan for Hill City students to attend Normal Park Museum Magnet School.
The board earlier voted to zone the Hill City neighborhood into the coveted school's attendance zone. The phase-in plan calls for allowing five kindergarten students from Hill City into the school each year.
The board also approved a plan to process magnet school applications through a live lottery. The district piloted a live lottery for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts and Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. Now, all 14 magnet schools will select students through a live lottery drawing.
