A Mercury cab driver was shot at today by one of his juvenile customers — after the boy paid his fare.
The driver, who took four boys from N. Hawthorne Street to 2193 Dodson Avenue, said the boys paid their fare and exited the cab together, according to Chattanooga Police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.
Afterwards, one of the juveniles pointed a handgun at the cab driver and fired several rounds at him. The driver was uninjured after the incident, but said all of the juveniles fled on foot, the driver said.
The boys have been described as black males, approximately 15-17 years of age, police say.
Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
