Two galleries opened new exhibits Friday that continue until June 20.

"Inside & Out": Works by Mark Chatterley at River Gallery, 400 E. Second St., 265-5033

"Feast Your Eyes": The work of Doug McCoy at In-Town Gallery, 26 Frazier Ave., 267-9214.

FREE ADMISSION

FOR MILITARY FAMILIES

Through Labor Day, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville is offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and up to five immediate adult family members. Service members need only show their military ID. Museum admission is always free to ages 18 and younger.

The special rate is offered through the Frist's collaboration with the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense.

PAINTING WORKSHOP FRIDAY

Townsend Atelier, 201 W. Main St., is sponsoring a painting workshop 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday through June 10. Registration is required. Call 266-2712 or email peggy@townsendatelier.com
