The Tennessee Federated Garden Clubs District III, which includes portions of Southeast Tennessee from Chattanooga to Cleveland to Dayton to Dunlap, will present a Day of Gardening from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 822 Belvoir Ave. Lunch is included in the $25 ticket price.
Several classes on a variety of topics will be offered throughout the day. The members of the district's garden clubs will be preparing soups, breads and desserts for the lunch. Patrons can also bid on gift baskets donated by local garden clubs in a silent auction.
Pat Lea, Times Free Press garden columnist, will be the featured speaker during lunch.
Tom Stebbins, Hamilton County's University of Tennessee Extension agent, will be giving a class on "Choosing Color in Your Garden."
Other experts will share information on topics including perennials, rain gardens, roses, upcycling, flower design, native plants and vegetables.
