Chattanooga teen charged in shooting at recreation center

Chattanooga police have charged 19-year-old Ricky C. Rogers in Wednesday night's shooting of Ellijah Flemming on the property of the Eastdale Recreation Center.

Rogers and Flemming were outside the center when the shooting occurred, police said. Flemming was able to run inside the center where facility manager Dank Hawkins took him into a safe room, called 911 and gave him medical treatment until police and EMS arrived.

Flemming is listed in stable condition. Rogers has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
