MOBILE, Ala. — The Chattanooga Lookouts evened their Southern League baseball series with the Mobile BayBears by winning 3-1 Monday night.
Chattanooga starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi bounced back from two subpar performances by allowing one run in seven innings as the Lookouts (17-22) got the series to two wins apiece.
Eovaldi's lone blemish was Yazy Arbelo's home run to center field in the second inning, but Pedro Baez's two-out double to left in the fourth scored Luis Nunez to tie the game at 1.
The Lookouts went ahead in the sixth, when Nunez singled to left and J.T. Wise doubled to left to open the inning and Nunez scored on a Baez groundout. Griff Erickson doubled to right to lead off the ninth and capped the scoring when Nick Buss singled to right.
Game five of the five-game series in Mobile is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Allen Webster (1-5, 7.49 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Brett Lorin (0-2, 2.49) scheduled for the BayBears.
