about Clay Bennett...
The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Somehow I anticipate people getting upset at this locally topical cartoon.
I disagree-I suspect everyone will find this one a winner.
Have heard for years that "walkers" were mistreated. If true, it sux.
It's Bush's fault!
Any person low life enough to mistreat any animal for any reason should get the same treatment in return IMO.
I could teach the man beating the horse how to do some high stepping.
This is just one rogue trainer who has a history of violations. All TN Walking Horses participating in sanctioned shows must undergo a rigid inspection process and the industry has had a 98% compliance rate over the last few years. I only wish every child in America was treated as well and given as much love and care as most of the show horses I have seen.
Evidently Pepsi has a different view.
Once again, a complete waste of time it was, visiting this page.
Seems gay Clay has a fetish for leather. Rob Halford perhaps? He needs to quit beating a dead horse.
Too bad The Wart is too weak kneed to tackle the pattern of black youth violence that has erupted.

There was a tidal wave of coverage over the Martin incident, but you are lucky to see any mention of roving gangs of black youth that seem to be striking every weekend or so.
Didn't even make it till noon.
Sorry lkeithlu.
Tu dumb of for word must be sleeping off another crack being
crack binge, my bad
Yup Good thing I didn't have money on it. I'd definitely owe you.
YOU GO CLAY!....Your cartoons and editorials tell it like it really is. Its like the old saying...A HIT DOG WILL HOLLA, and you have these so called conservatives yelping all over the place LOL.
Thanks for this one, Clay.
lightkeeper: who's yelping? Not a right or left issue....if the horses are mistreated, the offending scumbag should be drawn and quartered.
The empty can rattles the most lightheaded!
Such a critical issue. Animal mistreatment is unacceptable and there appears to be enough laws, rule and regulations to attend to it, perhaps even better than how people treat each other. What about and opionion (toon) about HR 4646 where each financial transaction with your bank is taxed 1%?
Love this cartoon. Topical. Local. Gives the local trolls a day off from using the number 16.
All kidding aside regarding trolls.... It is really stunning to learn what goes on at Walking Horse shows. Really. It's not big money. It's a triffle.
Just goes to show you that when money and/or pride is at stake, some people will go to great lengths to gain so little.
They Shoe Horses, Don't They? Or... Thank you sir, I'll Have Another. Or... Latexass Ranger. Okay, enough Horse Platitudes.
Hey toes... Who is this Bob Halford you mention? Not really up on the esoterica of eroticism. Is that like Larry Craig's alter ego, or what?
Harp3339: Well, I suppose Clay Bennett could post a cartoon on every petty law some Congressperson has proposed, but can't we pick a more interesting one, like National Fudge Ripple appreciation day?
HR4646 was nothing more than a bill proposed because it can. Besides, it eliminates the income tax, by replacing it with a transaction fee.
If you're going to discuss it, at least own up to the whole of it.
Or how it's under a new number:

Its's ROB Halford! The lead singer for Judas Priest! Google it and see for yourself!
hwtnb...
No HR4646 does not do away with any income tax. It seems you may have it confused with HR25 or S13 which are consumer taxes and the most logical proposal around that some fear may actually get out of committee.
