Family and friends are looking for a 19-year-old Georgia woman who was last seen in East Ridge.
Marissa Patterson, a star softball player at Heritage High School in Ringgold and now at the University of West Georgia, has been missing since Friday night, said her father, Bobby Patterson.
He said Marissa called her sister from a Walgreen's drug store in East Ridge about 10:55 p.m. Friday, asking for someone to come pick her up.
When her family arrived, her car was parked behind the store with the keys in it, but she was gone. The car had been in an accident in Fort Oglethorpe, and the family believes Marissa's boyfriend, Robert Morris, had been driving it.
Patterson said he believes Morris and his daughter are together, but family members have been unable to reach them on their cellphones.
"We're contacting friends, relatives and going everywhere we think they could be," Patterson said.
The family has filed a missing persons report with the East Ridge Police Department and plans to file one in Catoosa County, he said.
East Ridge police on Sunday evening issued a news release seeking information.
Marissa Patterson is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 220 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Morris, 24, is 5 feet, 11 inches tall with brown hair and eyes.
Police asked anyone with information to call 423-622-1725 or the confidential tip line, 423-867-0016.
People also have distributed fliers seeking information about Marissa.
"Marissa's very well known around this area; she's a college athlete," Patterson said. "Hopefully somebody's seen her and will contact us."
