Look at this week's prep football games

(All kickoffs at 7:30 unless noted)

Tyner (6-3, 4-2) at Red Bank (4-2, 4-5)

An early peek: The visiting Rams will match their running game and their stout defense against the Lions, who held District 6-AA champion East Hamilton to its lowest point total (24) this year. Red Bank probably has to win to continue a string of playoff appearances, while the Rams might slide into the Class 3A field (and on the road again) with a 6-4 record. A must for the Lions is increased awareness in the secondary, because Tyner has lulled them to sleep in the past and then hit them for a big pass play. Tyner, meanwhile, must contend with Lions quarterback Hagen Wilkey, who's coming off a 100-yard rushing performance against East Hamilton's rugged defensive unit.

Bradley Central (6-3, 4-1) at McMinn County (8-1, 5-0)

An early peek: The District 5-AAA championship is one of two that remain undecided in the Chattanooga area, and the winner of this game gets that title. While Bradley's injured Bears have relied heavily on senior quarterback Bryce Copeland due to an inordinate amount of injuries to other skill players, the key to their winning should hinge on how well the defense contains McMinn's two-headed rushing monster: Dre Sanders and Kelvin Wells Jr. A win could virtually assure the Cherokees of a first-round postseason host role, while a Bradley win might put both on the road.

Copper Basin (7-2, 1-1) at Boyd-Buchanan (8-1, 2-0)

An early peek: This could be viewed as a must game for each with the District 5-A championship and a possible first-round playoff bye at stake. The winner could wind up as a quadrant host. Boyd-Buchanan is coming off its first loss of the season -- to Class 4A Maplewood -- while the Cougars ran past Lookout Valley rather easily. Within the district, the Buccaneers gave Silverdale Baptist its only loss while Copper Basin lost to the Seahawks. Both teams beat Grace Academy. A key will be how well the Bucs' defense handles the Cougars' Dylan Boggs. The versatile quarterback ran for 142 yards and two scores and passed for 128 yards last week.
