Creel is chief medical officer

Dr. James Creel, interim chief medical officer for Erlanger Health System since May 14, has accepted the permanent position of the hospital's chief medical officer.

Dr. Creel recently concluded a term as chief of staff for Erlanger Health System and has been chief of emergency medicine at the level one trauma center for many years.

"With his proven ability to encourage teamwork and cooperation among medical personnel throughout the area, he is one of the most respected and admired physicians in the region," said Charlesetta Woodard-Thompson, Erlanger president and CEO. "He has been instrumental in many of our strategic initiatives, and his leadership and direction are invaluable to Erlanger and our community."

In addition to practicing emergency medicine, Dr. Creel has been a pioneer in the implementation of advanced skills for emergency medicine. He developed the first Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga -- the first program of its kind in the UT system -- and currently serves as interim chairman of the program. He has also served as assistant professor in both the departments of surgery and internal medicine for UTCOMC.

Dr. Creel has also served as medical director for Hamilton County EMS and Walker County EMS, First Responders and Chattanooga Fire; team physician for Hamilton County SWAT; medical director of Hamilton County Jail and Silverdale; and director of Med Comm.

He received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and completed his internship at St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal, Quebec.


Blankenship is banking grad

Dean Blankenship of Homeland Community Bank in McMinnville, Tenn., was among 52 students who have completed requirements for graduation from the 2012 session of The Southeastern School of Banking.

The school is conducted annually by the Tennessee Bankers Association at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

Organized in 1939, TSSB is one of the oldest and largest state association-sponsored banking schools in the country.


Davis is named to YPAC board

The Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga has named Josh Davis to serve on the organization's board of directors as vice president beginning this month.

A native of Damascus, Va., he is employed as the marketing communications manager with InfoSystems.

"He is a familiar face to many of our members, and his ongoing engagement with YPAC is not only a testament to the benefits that come from our association, but also to his personal dedication and commitment to our mission of attracting, retaining and developing young talent in Chattanooga," said YPAC President Cara Hicks.


Mansueto joins Chase as VP

Banker Stefanie Mansueto has joined Chase as vice president of middle market banking, providing accomplished local leadership and financial solutions to companies in Southeast Tennessee.

She has more than 10 years of banking experience, starting out in Cleveland and Philadelphia before moving to New York to work for Chase. After relocating to Chattanooga, she served as development director of Normal Park Museum Magnet School before rejoining Chase in Chattanooga.

She holds a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and a master's degree from Old Dominion University.


Taylor joins Billups

Billups Worldwide, a full service out-of-home media agency, recently hired Greg Taylor, who will work out of Chattanooga.

A 20-year veteran of the out-of-home media business, Taylor will also be responsible for growing national accounts in the Southeast region.

Taylor aims to grow Billups' multicultural business in all U.S. markets. He was most recently the multicultural director for Kinetic Worldwide in Miami. While there, he established its multicultural division and expanded services and revenues for the group.


Shaw is East Tech engineer

Tommy Shaw recently joined East Tech Co. as a project engineer.

He attended Chattanooga State Community College and received an associate of science degree in 1988.

He has over 20 years of experience in resistance welding, robotic arc and spot welding machinery, and automated manufacturing equipment design.
