County Clerk Bill Knowles announces installation of license renewal kiosk

Residents seeking to renew their driver's licenses or state ID cards now have a high-tech option that may save them time.

County Clerk Bill Knowles announced Monday an automated license renewal kiosk is now online at the county tag and title office on Bonny Oaks Drive.

The touch-screen kiosk is equipped with a camera and can quickly aid residents who need to renew identification cards.

Residents will receive a temporary license immediately from the machine, and a permanent license will be mailed to them, Knowles said.

The machine cannot renew or issue firearm permits or commercial driver's licenses.

The kiosk is intended to provide extra support for license renewals, Knowles said.
