McKee donates to history center
McKee Foods Corp. will sponsor the Chattanooga History Center and commit $150,000 toward its capital campaign for building a new 19,500-square-foot social history museum in the Ross’s Landing Park and Plaza.
With this addition, the center’s capital campaign has now reached $9.6 million, which is more than 90 percent of its $10.5 million goal.
“As a family-owned bakery, our community involvement centers around programs and initiatives that support the educational needs of a community and help young people become productive citizens,” said Mike McKee, president and chief executive of McKee Foods.
The center is slated to open in 2014.

BMW, the world’s biggest maker of luxury cars, is considering building engines in North America for the first time and expanding vehicle production in the region to capitalize on growing demand, three people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
BMW may establish a motor factory in Mexico or the U.S., and the Munich-based company could potentially decide on the project in 2014, according to the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are confidential.
