Small plane crash in northwest Atlanta kills 2

ATLANTA - Atlanta Fire Rescue spokeswoman Janet Ward says two people have been killed in a small plane crash in northwest Atlanta.

Federal Aviation Administration Spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said Tuesday that a Raytheon 390 Premier I aircraft crashed on Thomas Road shortly after 7 p.m.

Bergen says the plane departed from the Fulton County Airport and was destined for the New Orleans Lakefront Airport.

Bergen says the aircraft was registered to a company in the metro-Atlanta area.

Information on the identities of the people aboard the plane and the company the aircraft was registered to was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
