about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

That is the truth. The stock market is not booming from a genuinely strong economy. It's booming from the government printing free money and flooding the economy with it in hopes someone will take and run with it. (all the while killing the worth of the dollar).

At some point the fed (Obama's buddies) will ease up on this free money and the true underbelly of Obama's economy will be exposed for what it is. They can only bail Obama out for so long.

soakya, the only market I care about it the one represented by my stocks and because I pick a goodly number of the right stocks (with some good advice) my market is up quite a bit; but you probably are looking for a functional answer.

The market is rising because the Federal expenditures used to prevent the second Great Depression are paying off. The underlying issues in this country will not get resolved until the GOP wakes us and realizes rationally determined higher wages induce a growing economy, and until manufacturing returns as it is showing glimmers of doing, and don't have another meltdown in DC. (What is the chance all three happen?)

I expect as the Fed reduces its purchases the market will sag because of the freeloaders looking for something for nothing, but those in it for the long haul will be ok.

Jt6: not really, the purpose of constructive political commentary ought to be to present an accurate snapshot of reality laced with the right dose of irony.

No I believe, just as you imply, that it is “cyclical” as was explained by that great neo-liberal philosopher.

Chauncey Gardiner: Yes. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.

President "Bobby": Spring and summer.

Chauncey Gardiner: Yes.

President "Bobby": Then fall and winter.

Chauncey Gardiner: Yes.

Benjamin Rand: I think what our insightful young friend is saying is that we welcome the inevitable seasons of nature

Benjamin Rand: Hmm!

Chauncey Gardiner: Hmm!

President "Bobby": Hm. Well, Mr. Gardner, I must admit that is one of the most refreshing and optimistic statements I've heard in a very, very long time.I admire your good, solid sense.

Don’t worry as there is sure to be a very hot dry spell this summer that you can take advantage of... Right?

Sorry Ike, I do not put much faith into the self-check mechanism.

How did that self-check work out for Michael Mann where emails that leaked back in 2012 exposed Mann as a fraud who essentially forged data to maintain the global warming ruse.

Also two Canadian scientists, McIntyre and McKitrick, exposed Mann's poor math; the Hockey Stick is a fraud. Bad science, however, did not discourage the left-wing hacks at the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from publishing a fraudulent report using Mann's thesis. IPCC claimed 2500 scientists were in support, which the media spun to say, "The majority of world's top scientists agree that global climate change is due to human activity." But scientists rebelled. (IPCC revised its Web site to say "2500 expert reviewers," and further admitted it does not carry out climate research but merely bases its assessment on peer review of published technical literature.) I thought that “Global Warming” was so 1990’s and that the new all purpose catchphrase was “Climate Change. It encompasses all eventualities such as hot or cold ... wet or dry ... increased hurricanes and tornadoes or none at all ... no matter what’s happening it is always good old “Climate Change”. It’s a sure bet and it’s catchy too.

That's an easy one to get.

“You have Vanuatu, and also in the Pacific, north of New Zealand and Fiji— there is the island Tegua. They said they had to evacuate it, because the sea level was rising. But again, you look at the tide-gauge record: There is absolutely no signal that the sea level is rising. If anything, you could say that maybe the tide is lowering a little bit, but absolutely no rising.”

The liberals are so invested in global warming being "real" that they're getting desperate to keep the global warming hoax alive. Lest these tenured leftist "scientists" lose their government handout.

If the earth were a calender with January 1st being day one, human existence would be a faint pencil dot in the bottom right corner of December 31st.
