Juvenile Court Judge Bailey set to retire

Longtime Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Suzanne Bailey will retire at the end of April, sources said Friday.

A decision on her replacement rests with the Hamilton County Commission. The commission's appointee would serve until the August 2014 county general election.

Bailey, 63, who took office in 1990, was the first woman elected to a judgeship here.

She did not respond to a Times Free Press request for comment.

Sam Mairs, Hamilton County Juvenile Court administrator, said Bailey is expected to issue a news release Monday morning.
