Man charged with sex assault on girls he met at Lakesite church

A Hamilton County man has been charged with aggravated statutory rape after authorities say he had sex with at least two underage girls.

Gabriele Wayne Erickson, 39, met the girls while attending Community Baptist Church in Lakesite, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said in a news release.

The investigation began Tuesday with the cooperation of church leaders, Atkinson said.

“The investigation determined there is sufficient evidence to believe that Gabriele Wayne Erickson did sexually assault at least two underage girls,” Atkinson said.

Erickson was arrested today and taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
