WAYNESBORO, Miss. — An Alabama man is charged with killing his estranged wife in Mississippi.
Anthony Pace, 25, is accused of shooting his wife while she was driving, WTOK-TV reports.
Authorities say the 22-year-old Andrews was driving alone on U.S. 84 outside Waynesboro when Pace shot her Thursday afternoon, causing her to wreck. She died at the scene.
Pace was arrested shortly afterward at his mother’s house in nearby Gilbertown, Ala. A judge ordered him returned to Mississippi after a hearing Friday.
Choctaw County, Ala., Sheriff Tom Abate says Pace made a statement after being arrested, telling authorities the gun was at his mother’s house.
Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain says investigators are testing to make sure the gun was used in the shooting and await Andrews’ autopsy results.
