Autopsy released from accidental shooting of 2-year-old Harrison boy

The bullet that killed a two-year-old Harrison boy went straight through his chest, according to a Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s report.

On the night of Dec. 20, Brennen Nowell’s grandfather left a semi-automatic pistol on a chair in Brennen’s house on River Stream Drive.

The two-year-old grabbed the gun accidentally shooting himself just below his right breast, according to the report. The bullet exited the left side of Brennen’s chest above his left breast.

He is one of three Chattanooga-area children under 14 to die of an accidental gunshot wound in 2012.
