KNOXVILLE — A woman was shot and killed in front of her home late this morning northwest of Knoxville College, and five suspects were taken into custody at a nearby residence a short time later, according to Knoxville police.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of Nolan Avenue. The victim was in her early 20s. Her name is being withheld pending notification of family members.

A next-door neighbor said the woman had given birth to twins about a week ago.
