A suspect has been arrested in an investigation of multiple gasoline thefts in Chattanooga, police said.

Thomas Lee Bouch, 39, is charged with theft and vandalism after a combined investigation involving Chattanooga, East Ridge, Red Bank, Collegedale and Hamilton County law enforcement, according to a Chattanooga police news release.

The release said investigators know of 18 cases where the thief cut fuel lines on parked vehicles and drained the tanks.

Bouch was arrested by the Chattanooga Police Department’s property crimes unit and is in the Hamilton County Jail, the statement said.
