Man, woman dead after apparent murder-suicide

MARIETTA, Ga. — A man and woman are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Marietta.

Cobb County police believe 70 year-old Henry Harlan Wooten killed his longtime girlfriend, 72 year-old Kay Cornell Janus, on Sunday morning. He then walked to a nearby cul-de-sac in the 1400 block of Gateview Way and shot himself to death.

Police tell WSBTV that it looks like Wooten shot Janus in the garage of her home and then left the scene on foot.

The motive for the shooting has not been determined. The incident is still under investigation.
