ClearSpring Yoga will host two classes on Saturday specifically designed for older athletes, or anyone over 40 who is physically active and wants to feel and perform to their best ability.
The 90-minute classes include traditional yoga postures along with breathwork and relaxation methods, which will enhance athletic performance, flexibility and quiet focus, instructors say. The 11 a.m. class will be led by Kripalu yoga teacher Sallie Norris Beckes and the 2 p.m. class by ClearSpring co-owner Anthony Crutcher.
There is no charge for anyone participating in the upcoming Senior Olympics (Sept. 14-25); others will pay $14 per session. A portion of proceeds will benefit the ClearSpring scholarship fund.
Participants do not need to be active athletes to attend, and no yoga experience is necessary. The studio will provide yoga mats and any necessary props for the classes.
Spots may be reserved by phone at 423-266-3539, online at ClearSpringYoga.com or at the studio, 105 N. Market St.
