$700 monument stolen from Cleveland TN greenway

The Cleveland Police Department is looking for the thief of a copper faceplate marking the beginning of the city's greenway at Willow Street.

The faceplate is valued at more than $700. Cleveland police say similar thefts are becoming more common because of the scrap value of copper.

If apprehended, the culprit will face felony theft and vandalism charges.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call detective Matt Jenkins at 423-303-3134.
