IT'S NO WAY TO RUN A RAILROAD

House Speaker John Boner announced yesterday morning that Congress would pass legislation to solve the "Border Crisis" since the President would not. Later, Boner pulled both immigration Bills when he realized he didn't have enough republican votes to pass the republican Bills.

Then he said, heck, the President could act on his own to solve the Border problem without the help of Congress. Apparently John was experiencing brain flatulence again because he is suing Obama doing exactly the same thing.

Meanwhile, over in the Senate, republicans were busy blocking the Democratic immigration Bill. The GOP is banking on the public blaming the President for republican obstruction

So I'm begging you congressional republicans, for the love of god, go on vacation.

Why is it that some people cannot see the problem with Congress?

This year's front burner issue being offered by the right-wing is out of control immigration. They believe they can convince the American people that the President and the Democrats are refusing to do anything about immigration, and withhold all funds appropriated that would or could be used to deal with the issue.

The Republican Party is on a quest to defund immigration enforcement until they believe they will regain full Congressional power this next year, and blame it all on the President.

That stupidity aside, the entire issue is being exaggerated, from every Republican candidate running for Congressional office to the Texas Governor, complete with a dumping of false stories to aggravate the most hateful of white people in this nation, with the goal being to hopefully energize and cause them to hyperventilate about all these alleged tens of thousands of illegal immigrants flowing across the border like flood waters.

There is absolutely no evidence that the numbers of immigrants flowing across the border has changed, but the ages of those coming have changed, with a slight uptick in unaccompanied children being ferried across by coyotes, paid to assist these children flee extreme adverse conditions in Central America and in very many cases, the children belong to parents already established here in the States.

I know that some of the most avid Republican cheerleaders are swallowing all this ridiculousness with the same fervor that they do everything else that comes from a Republican. There is no end to just how stupid and utterly ignorant some people can get.

I'm still predicting a massive backfire from all this for the Republicans, because the rift among the Republicans in the House is at an all time high, coinciding with today's laughable attempt to pass immigration legislation before Congress was dismissed.

John Boehner is not in charge of the House, much less his cohorts in crime. He has been a most ineffective Speaker of the House and they haven't reigned in those who claim to be Tea Partiers to the degree it's going to take for the Republican side of Congress to start working.

I have faith in the independent voters in this nation, that they too see exactly what the problem is, and that they will turn out in numbers enough to deal with it, sending a message to these do nothing Republicans, and send at least a few more of them home this fall.

From Faux News: "In the absence of legislation, Republicans urged President Obama to act on his own to secure the borders and safely deport illegal immigrant children."

But...but...but you stupid Republicans, it is against the law to deport unprocessed illegal immigrant children. GWB signed the bill into law that prohibits it.

With Republicans refusing to fund the necessary departments to deal with this perceived crisis, how is the President supposed to secure the borders?

The idiocy of the vocal Republicans who claim to be lawmakers and who are supposed to be knowledgeable of the laws, is astounding.

They are daring the President to unilaterally deal with the immigration issue, why?

Mr. President, you know what's got to be done. In time, I'm sure you're going to do it, and I'm going to laugh my ass off when you do, because the Republicans are going to howl to high Heaven that you're illegally side-stepping Congress again.

Rick "National Guard" Perry is already howling...at his fellow Congressional Republicans;

"it's beyond belief that Congress is abandoning its post while our border crisis continues to create humanitarian suffering."

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said earlier in the day: "It is extraordinary that the House of Representatives, after failing for more than a year to reform our broken immigration reform system, would vote to restrict a law enforcement tool that the Department of Homeland Security uses to focus resources on key enforcement priorities like public safety and border security, and provide temporary relief from deportation for people who are low priorities for removal."

The poster in this forum, known as "The Jack Dennis" has a seriously sordid past. It is one he has confessed to in this very forum. He admitted to being Jack Dana Dennis, who it turns out is a three time convicted pedophile in Knox County, Tennessee.

He will not and cannot provide proof to any recantation of his confession of May 18, 2014, because he refuses to recant his confession.

He calls me a liar all day long, several times a day, but it is impossible to lie when his confession is found in the archives of this site. If it's a lie, he posted it.

Do you really want to discuss anything with a confessed pedophile?

Liberals could have "cooperated" with congress a long time ago. All you have to do is give in....like you want us to do......and agree with your crap....

There lies the problem. What we need is a clear winner and go in a direction. As long as government is split, we will go nowhere. One side or the other needs to win. Since liberals have been in charge for awhile and screwed things up, it is time for the conservative to have their shot.

Of course you liberals will not agree..so it goes...

Timbo, you're as blind as a bat if you can sit there with a straight face and claim that Democrats are the ones who screwed things up.

You're equally ignorant if you believe that the Democrats have not been the ones to right so many wrongs in this nation.

While the Republicans have been sitting on their hands, the nation is well on it's way to recovering from the Republican dominated Government that drove this nation off into a ditch in 2008.

If you were using your brain, you would understand what the Republicans did that almost killed this entire nation's economy and was responsible for the largest transfer of wealth into the fewest hands ever, in the entire history of this nation.

The Democrats didn't do it. It all started with three Republicans, all of whom lost their jobs the next time they ran for reelection.

I urge everyone to refresh their weak memories by looking into the legislation known as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which rescinded the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933.

The Republicans are responsible for damn near causing a second Great Depression, if in fact it was not exactly that, and the Democrats have worked their way to recover from every effect of it.

Can anyone point to one reform that Republicans are responsible for, that counters what happened just six years ago? I sure cannot.

Today's job report is expected to show that unemployment will be 6.1%, adding 230,000 jobs.

Of course, there will be those Republican cheerleaders who will attempt to pick it all apart and introduce alternative numbers, which mean not a damn thing.

All one has to do is to look around you. Where is any evidence that people are suffering like they were just six years ago?

Since people give credit to every President in office for all things economic, I'm appalled that President Obama is not being hailed as a hero for the complete economic turnaround that has happened since he has been in office.

It was all different when Reagan did it. Barack Obama has done just about the same thing in less time, and far more dramatically, I might add.

The numbers were vastly different. The results have been vastly unexpected, but here we are America.

Do you REALLY want to put the Republicans back in charge of things?

Was Obamacare compromise? The stimulus compromise? No, it was by a party who had control after the 2008 election forcing it's will on half the country. Don't you remember Barry's quote, "I won." about the Republicans griping about a stimulus rammed down their throats. There was not one Republican vote for Obamacare and the stimulus passed on a 244-188 party line vote also.

timmie, you, z-fister and cronies are smoking something that is mind-altering. You certainly are ignoring the actual facts - or, are so young you can't remember or did not study history.

In every case on the economy the loyal Blues agreed to compromise their position for the Reds but the tea stained Reds said no way. President Obama said he would even come over and wash your car for a serious discussion about solving the immigration problem.

If you study your history you will find times of animosity, e.g., 1770's, 1860's, and times when the majority had to act against the tyranny of the minority, for example the Civil Rights Act, the threat to add justices to the Supreme Court in F. Roosevelt's era when the Reds fought every effort to create a more compassionate approach to destitution, but overall you will find that the legislative process is one of give and take.

The very tone of you and your buddies' comments reflects exactly the destructive hate I referred to earlier. You are not interested in the least in any equitable solution so the end result will be we have to steamroller over your obstruction and refusal to accommodate other persons' ideas in order to get a little fairness and justice in things like immigration reform, universal medical care, living wage, not fighting other people's wars, etc.

The long view says your rigid ideology and politics are a thing of the past. 244 votes is 56% pal, not the minority 188 (44%) is.

Sober up and man up boys, this is no grammar school playground fighting match. Give something to get something and prove you have a modicum of patriotism left in you.

inquiringmind...Nice try...Goebbels would be proud. All propaganda. On the one hand you talk about "destructive hate" and on the other hand talk about how evil we are.

Your propaganda will not work for a very simple reasons. Your facts are only your interpretation of events. Stuff like, "..the Reds fought every effort to create a more compassionate approach to destitution.." and little digs like that give you away. I might say about the same situation that the Reds were valiantly standing up to a socialist president.

Fairness is in the eye of the beholder. You think universal health care is "fair," I see it as giving in to government control and that it will not work. You words," ... ideas in order to get a little fairness and justice in things like immigration reform, universal medical care, living wage, not fighting other people's wars, etc." are all left wing views of fairness.

The bottom line is your idea of "fairness" or compromise is giving in to your position. The problem is no amount of insults, hand-wringing or cojoling will change our minds. We know what works and what does not. Liberism, communism, socialism, and progresivism is not compromise. It is an agressive attempt to take over this country and destroy the constition.

"Man up..?" You don't know what the term means. We need to man up more and say no to you people at every turn until we win at the polls and at least have a chance to save this country.

Then the poor sap turns around and says the President will have to use executive action to address the border problem. One day he's suing the President for using executive action and the next day he's saying the President should use executive action because the teabaggers are out of control. This is the same bunch that thinks they deserve to control both houses of Congress. I don't blame this sorry bunch of losers, I blame the people who voted them in. If they are allowed to control both Houses of Congress, they will spend the next two years trying to impeach the President. timmie sez, " (All you do is) talk about how evil we are." I've never suggested or said you were evil, connie is the only one around here that offers than kind of judgment.

I do say you are misguided and seduced by your wealth, friends and talk-show bloviation, and I have suggested your politics are dead. You translate compassion towards those with limited or no health care into "giving government power," quite the bit of duck and dive opprobrious propaganda at that.

To say, "'fairness' or compromise is giving in to your position " is an Alice-In-wonderland" dodge. Compromise by definition is the antithesis of forcing someone to give in to one's position, it is moving away from your position towards the others' position.

Try as you might, you cannot change the reality that a refusal to move away from a hard and fast position is obstructing movement towards a compromise and a foolhardy effort to thwart any change from the status quo.

As for immigration that attitude ensures the problems on the border will almost not be solved reasonably and quickly, if at all.

You say, "The problem is no amount of insults, hand-wringing or cojoling will change our minds." What more evidence do we need from you to show that compromise, or movement from the status quo (except movement to occupy your position) is unacceptable to you. You are an obstructionist who has little regard for the rule of law or the safety and security of this nation. Your kind of patriotism reminds me of the adage, "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel." This country is ruled by law and will not be "taken over" by anything but the ballot box, or divine force.

Gauss, why would I consider a President a Hero? I think Abraham Lincoln and George Washington could be called heroic, they may be the only two. I'm not sure if any other ones would be. I thought some presidents were really great, but I don't know about heroic. Some presidents did some great things.

What has BO done that's heroic? Ridiculous. It's as ridiculous an idea as BO getting the Nobel Peace Prize.

Lefties like inquiringmind constantly pervert Scripture.

They like inquiringmind almost always try to pervert the meaning of the word "poor" when Jesus uses it to mean some form of Socialism.

Jesus here in the quote of Luke 4:18 is referring to the spiritually poor, those who are impoverished of any righteousness of their own.

Jesus is not referring to those who are monetarily poor.

Everyone needs Salvation, the rich, poor and in between.

Connie wrote: "Lefties like inquiringmind constantly pervert Scripture."

You're an expert at that, aren't you? Isn't it a shame the some people are able to comprehend what THEY read?

"They like inquiringmind almost always try to pervert the meaning of the word "poor" when Jesus uses it to mean some form of Socialism."

There are 178 uses of the word poor in Scripture. Although there are a few exceptions, the term poor in Scripture means economic/material poverty.

Review the following verses and notice the characteristics:

“Then the poor among you may get food” (Exodus 23:11)

“If...he is poor and cannot afford these” (Leviticus 14:21)

“If one...becomes poor and is unable to support himself” (Leviticus 25:35)

“Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it” (Deuteronomy 24:15)

“The poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb” (2 Samuel 12:3)

“The infant of the poor is seized for a debt” (Job 24:9)

“Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare” (Proverbs 20:13)

“Go, sell your possessions and give to the poor” (Matthew 19:21)

“For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem” (Romans 15:26)

“Suppose . . . a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in” (James 2:2)

"Jesus here in the quote of Luke 4:18 is referring to the spiritually poor, those who are impoverished of any righteousness of their own."

There is absolutely no way for you to know this at all. Poor means poor throughout most of the Bible. You're taking it upon yourself to change the meaning of the word with no authority to do so.

"Jesus is not referring to those who are monetarily poor."

Since Jesus spoke very much in the New Testament, DIRECTLY, about the impoverished, you have no way to know what he may or may not have been referring to. Since Jesus said it, I trust it as a reference to the impoverished.

"Everyone needs Salvation, the rich, poor and in between."

Yeah....when are you going to get you some of that?

You're going to break their hearts, if those guilty ever realize that their love for their money is damning them to Hell.

They believe that God has gifted them with all they have and that there is no limit to what they can amass and keep to the end of their lives.

Matthew 16-24, one of my favorite reads in the Bible:

16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

*18 “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony,"

19 honor your father and mother, and "love your neighbor as yourself.”

20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”

21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.

24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

No, it is Liberals like you and inquiringmind who "redefine" poor in Luke 4:18.

The context clearly shows that Jesus was NOT talking about those with very little money.

The good news ( the Gospel)that Jesus here spoke about is for EVERYONE who knows that he is a sinner and cannot save himself.

One's financial standing, looks, race, social standing, birthright etc. has nothing to do with the fact that that one is a sinner in need of God's forgiveness.

You're intentionally complicating something that is not at all complicated.

If Jesus wanted to refer to those who were spiritually deficient, I'm sure there is a word that would better and more clearly describe one who is in spiritual need.

How about the word "sinner." Nope. Jesus never used the word. Maybe he just shortened it to the word "sin."

Oh my goodness, it appears that Jesus only used the word "Sin" three times in the entire New Testament.

1) When the adultery woman was to be stoned he said "he who is without sin cast the first stone.
