East Tennessee soldiers headed to Afghanistan

Should U.S. troops stay in Afghanistan past year's end?

A company of East Tennessee soldiers will deploy again this week, this time for Afghanistan.

Plans call for about 120 members of the 252nd Military Police Company, based in Cleveland and Oneida, Tenn., to leave Friday morning for training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix in Lakehurst, N.J.

They'll spend about a month there before heading to duty in Afghanistan, National Guard spokesman Niki Gentry said.
