Rash of auto break-ins investigated in Dalton

Police in Dalton, Ga., are warning residents to keep their vehicles locked after a rash of car break-ins that happened Monday.

Police spokesman Bruce Frazier said in a news release that the thefts were focused in the area of Dug Gap Road and the Brookwood subdivision, and other cases were reported on Veterans Drive.

In all cases, he said, the thieves got into unlocked cars and stole items including money and electronics.

Frazier reminded drivers to lock their vehicles and stash valuables out of sight or in the trunk.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call Detective Brian Shirley at 706-278-9085. Dial 9 and then enter extension 189.
