Man in custody after barricading himself in Cleveland apartment with 12-year-old

The Cleveland Police Department took a suspect into custody last night after he had barricaded himself in an Adkisson Drive apartment with a 12-year-old.

The police had gone to the address after a tip and as they were into an investigation of an armed person who had evaded police and was being sought on several felony arrest warrants from Georgia.

Negotiations with the suspect were followed by the 12-year-old exiting the apartment safely and then the SWAT team entering it to find the suspect hiding in the attic.

Two loaded handguns were recovered at the scene, police said.
