Chris Christie

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

I don't support Christie as a presidential candidate but I admire his response and reaction to those on his staff not serving him well. I wonder why he didn't blame George Bush or once he knew move the offender to a different job? I do wonder what his reaction to a mess like the AHA roll out would be? Would he just spend a few more billion tax dollars to clean up the mess and keep the same person in the job?

Christie is way too moderate to expect any support from the Republican party. They will never forgive Christie for thanking Obama for helping out NJ after Katrina. Hillary is surely smiling.

It would be nice to see the lefty media spend as much time on Benghazi, IRS, NSA......

An ambassador gets murdered and it's "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?" The IRS gets used by the president as his very own secret police, and it's, "nothing to see here folks!!"

But "STOP THE PRESSES" when a (purported) republican gets accused of keeping some people stuck in traffic for a few hours.

Pathetically unbelievable. Just another (purposeful) distraction from the disaster that is this president.

The percent of eligible workers employed continues to be lower and lower, average income is down, average work hours per week is down, the number receiving unemployment is down as benefits end. Corporate profits are up, tax revenue is up, the stock market is up. Obama assures the nation that the economy is improving, the recession is over and that he is a victim of many false scandals that he knew nothing about until he saw them on the news. Is the requirement to purchase something whether you want it or not bullying? Is it blackmail? Is it an abuse of power? None of the above, it is a transitional living fund which cost less than if it is called welfare.

November, 2016 is a long way off. Christie's political future does not depend on the past few weeks, but on how he goes forward. As of now Hillary is a two:one favorite over any Republican on the horizon. Her focus needs to be on maintaining a low profile, yet relevant stance for at least after this November elections.

Dont be fooled. Christie is no moderate or soft Republican. He's as far right wing as they come when it comes to policies. Especially those that have a negative impact on the working class.

Yes! He cross the aisle and was cordial to the president for a few weeks when that storm hit NJ. But make no mistake about it, Christie is a Bush/Cheney-esque neoconservative who promotes the old politics of division and ignorance.

Example: Christie's declaration on Civil Liberties, when Americans and organizations complained about NSA spying. He alluded to 9/11 when he said: "the next attack that comes, that kills thousands of Americans as a result, people are going to be looking back.Christie's insinuation, of course, was that if America is hit again, it will rightly blame those who dared to question the NSA's mass surveillance programs." according to politco and alt.

According to ProPublica Christie "in his eagerness to instill fear, Christie failed to address the serious constitutional concerns about the NSA programs. "there is no evidence" that such surveillance has stopped terrorist attacks or is making the country safer."

Also, according to ProPublica and alt org:

"Christie has pushed a Bush-like agenda of tax breaks for the wealthy and cuts to social services, education and retirement benefits. He has portrayed this agenda as proof that he is fearlessly "advocating for the taxpayer." Yet, as the New York Times recently reported, Christie has also channeled Bush by cheerily handing out hundreds of millions of dollars worth of wasteful taxpayer subsidies to huge corporations."

I see lots of posts giving Christie the benefit of any doubt they can find, but this is more an indictment of conservative political strong arm tactics than any individual. Y'all are some sneaky, mean, vindictive people. Let's face it, you put words like fair, truth, and justice in your screen names to help the wicked medicine go down. Hotdiggity, that's ridiculous. They just nominated two candidates for president in the last two elections who really didn't have the balls to say it the way it is, McCain and Romney. They're not conservatives. The GOP is not controlled by conservatives, it's controlled by folks who want to be Democrat Party Lite. When was the last time they nominated a conservative? That would Reagan. Bush senior, Dole, W, and Romney are not conservatives. W spent like a Democrat. Bush senior was just a country club Republican. Look what happens when a real conservative, like Cruz, tries to crash their party, they attack him. Look what happens when leftist nuts like Hillary and Obama get popular, they rally around them.

Christie is just looking out for Chrisities, that's pretty clear.

How come the media is all over this scandle, but not Benghazi, IRS or spying? We all know the answer to that.

Al Stage 4 not good, follow your dietitians orders and watch your Vit D. 6.7% unemployment rate will sink the Dems come the mid terms. Poverty is not what it used to be with most having full bellies, cell phones, beer, and cigs. The perfect set up to become a stage 4 CKD patient like Alpo.

And one correction, the U.S. has won numerous wars if you count the Revolutionary War, Spanish American, and of course the most recent victory by Bush 41 and 43 over Saddam Hussein and Iraq. The U.S. invaded Iraq, occupied the country and cut the head off the snake that terrorized his own country by capturing Saddam Hussein. Because of Barry The Welfare Pimps weakness Iraq is now falling once again to Al Quaida. I know it's been over 25 years since Reagan was president, but you "conservatives" always bring up the fictional Reagan as if 25 years has made you forget who Reagan truly was. Christie is closer to Reagan than any of the other mentioned candidates potentially running for president in 2016.

That is only one of many fictions in the mind of Maxie. Anyone who can say with a straight face that Bush "won" the Iraq war is not just dealing with fiction in his mind but is so out of touch with reality that he's probably borderline psychotic. Merely deposing and killing a dictator does not a victory make. Most conservatives still wrongly and stubbornly defend Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq but not even the staunchest conservative is stupid or foolish enough to claim that any kind of victory has been achieved there, not now or at any time during the extent of the war. Oh wait... Cheney has gone on record as saying that the Iraq war was a victory, of sorts. But then, look who we're talking about here. Maxie and Cheney: two fools of a feather. The only difference between them is that one is famous, or at least infamous; the other is a nobody, except in his own deluded mind.

Throughout Christie's entire press conference he has never looked more like the proverbial dog with his tail tucked between his legs. We will probably never know for sure whether he is lying or not, about being complicit in what was going on, but it is highly unlikely that his top aides would have said or done anything like they did if they didn't think he would have sanctioned it. It's much too soon to tell if this will ruin his chances for running for prez in '16 but there will surely be high-profile lawsuits as a result of the woman's death caused, directly or indirectly, by the nefariously created traffic congestion, and that will surely hinder his prospects.

yddem, I just now saw where you snuck back in last night and scrawled some ignorant graffiti on the wall before the shop closed.

I think this applies, to the situation, just about right.

By C.S. Lewis:

You must show that a man is wrong before you start explaining why he is wrong. The modern method is to assume without discussion that he is wrong and then distract his attention from this by busily explaining how he became so silly ....you can only find out the rights and wrongs by reasoning never by being rude about your opponent’s psychology.

...there flashed across my opening mind the great truth that refutation is no necessary part of argument. Assume that your opponent is wrong, and explain his error, and the world will be at your feet. Attempt to prove that he is wrong or (worse still) try to find out whether he is wrong or right, and the national dynamism of our age will thrust you to the wall."

It is the same with all thinking and all systems of thought. If you try to find out which are tainted by speculating about the wishes of the thinkers, you are merely making a fool of yourself. You must first find out on purely logical grounds which of them do, in fact, break down as arguments. Afterwards, if you like, go on and discover the psychological causes of the error.

That is why the motive game is so uninteresting. Each side can go on playing ad nauseam, but when all the mud has been flung every man’s views still remain to be considered on their merits. I decline the motive game and resume the discussion.

In addition, the tendency to focus on motivations can be a sign of intellectual laziness. It’s just much easier to attack other people’s motivations than it is to answer their arguments (especially when the arguments are difficult to refute). And even if the motivations of others are suspect, that’s still not an excuse to avoid dealing with the other side’s reasoning. The merits of an argument don’t depend on the character of those advancing them.

Here are the times in dispute and you are welcome to refute them.

ABC - November 27, 2013 On Good Morning America 22 seconds

CBS - July 24, 2013 On the CBS Evening News 1 minute and 41 seconds

NBC - December 28, 2013 On the Today Show 3 seconds

junk trash said "exactly to the period of what I expected."

Yes, jt really did say that.

That's below even your lack of standards, junk trash, that's garbage.

So you’re purposefully writing your posts in a manner that makes it appear an idiot wrote them? You’re doing a bang up job I must say.

Jay Leno said:

“Pundits are saying this could hurt [Christie’s] 2016 presidential campaign. The ironic thing is now that Christie is denying everything he sounds even more presidential."

Like someone we know?

Okay, junk trash, to your claim that I "snuck back in" last night. I made several posts while you were "in the room." You made no comments. I said I was going out for the evening. After I left, you attacked my posts. I returned, checked the forum, saw your comments and responded.

So, junk trash, the TRUTH is that you made your comments while I had my back turned. You accuse me of sneaking around? Your conduct was cowardly.

junk trash is "beginning to realize" something?

Waiting with bated breath to hear whether he ever actually realizes something.

jddem ... Don't get down on yourself just because you're not as smart as you feel you "deserve" to be. After all it's possible that you may be as smart as as your limited intellectual capabilities will permit you. Just possibly but not probably and there is no real shame in knowing you place... Is there?

Checking out for the evening, jt. I will look for an announcement tomorrow whether you have realized something.

Feel free to call me names. It will make you think you are somebody.

It's not that your posts are not funny and I know that they are not plus they are so 1970's. The real fun is observing the batsh!t crazy delight you seem to get out of posting them. It's knee slapping fun.
