Bodies of 2 teen swimmers found in Cummins Falls State Park in Tennessee

NASHVILLE — A state official says the bodies of two 13-year-old boys have been found in a swimming hole at Cummins Falls State Park.

Kelly Brockman, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, says divers recovered the bodies during a search Saturday.

The boys, who were not being identified, were reported missing Friday. A medical examiner will determine how they died.

Brockman said the boys were part of a group of about 35 children who went to the park with Backfield in Motion, a Nashville-based group that works with inner-city children. She said the trip was sponsored by Great Outdoors University.

The Jackson County park features Cummins Falls, a 75-foot waterfall located on the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River. The swimming hole sits at the bottom of the falls.
