Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond holds wide lead over Harvey in GOP primary for sheriff

With 19 of 130 precincts reporting, incumbent Jim Hammond holds a wide lead over challenger Chris Harvey in the Hamilton County Sheriff's race.

Hammond has received 4,940 votes from the reporting precincts while Harvey, a patrol sergeant in the sheriff's office, has garnered 2,250 votes. The winner of tonight's primary will run unopposed in August's general election.
