Dalton Police seek man who allegedly stole jar with donations for a charity

The Dalton Police Department says it is seeking the whereabouts of 36-year-old Ryan Martain Weaver, who is wanted on warrants for two thefts that happened at Dalton businesses in April.

One of those involved his alleged stealing of a jar filled with donations for a charity while the other was in connection with the his allegeged theft of a woman's purse from a shopping cart.

The $85 in the jar had been donated to the Murray County Animal Control and Humane Society. The incident occurred at the Petland store at 1349 West Walnut Ave.

Police said anyone with information about his location is asked to contact Detective Brian Shirley at (706) 278-9085, extension 189.
